Im most likely going alone. My question is... Is it easy to get lost on the trails when riding alone?

You'd have to really try to get lost at Mammoth. Pretty much all intersections are marked, plenty of pocket-size maps to carry around, and if all else fails, all the trails pretty much end up 1 of 2 or 3 locations.

I will be up there July 27-29. Have a room at the Village. Right now looking like just me and my roommate. Should be room for 2 more if anyone wants to split. We are leaving early Friday morn, riding all 3 days and heading home Sun night. I might go back the following weekend as well if anyone wants to go.
