Blindly running into cactus
i was on the other side of the rocks from TP and snagged a few before heading up to race. i also have vid clips of cecil and andy D in that section. i wish i had it on video for moto's run...that was insane!

i'll post the better shots here but if you went down before motomike then i probably have a pic of you and you can just check my photobucket account under the 'massanutten 07' folder and get whatever you like. my account name is 'sempertubby2'.

first off, mad props to ellen adams. stitches on practice day and then a sprained ankle on race day :( oh well, she was still all smiles and matt pulled off a 2nd place finish :thumb:

Thanks man. I thought I heard someone saying something like that, but was only thinking of staying left on the exit of the rock garden at that time. Boy I looked slow up top, but look as I picked some speed up when I let go of the brakes. I did nail that tree up top though!!! My normal line was left of the tree and in my race run I decided to stay right at the last sec. Thanks for the vid.

You didnt look that slow to me on the top garden. I was just off to the left about midway though it. You looked fast to me not the fastest but fast.

I always thought it would be cool to have the number one plate until I actually had it at the US Open last year since I signed up once I got the email saying that signup was open. It sucked. But at least I have a number 1 plate for my shop wall.

You were pretty fast through the upper rock garden.

I had a fast run but played in the bushes near the bottom. Probably cost me at least 15 seconds. I ran a 4:03 with the crash.

I'm bummed because now I can't upgrade to expert until I do well in another sport race.

Fitzy. I think I saw a picture of you on the podium some where! Congrats, and now you must immediately ride out to P-Tent and hit that stupid ladder drop :clapping:

I just signed into my buddy Greg's account on USAC and sent them his AMA# on Thursday through the online request form and they've already upgraded him to expert today.

Ah Massanutten,
I was too sick to go this year but went anyway,
then I was injured but I raced anyway.
I don't regret either.
You only get one shot a year at that place, and I could not miss out on the fun.
I had 5 different people asked me what was wrong this weekend, because I was being so quite, but I just did not have the energy to do anything but ride and breathe. Sorry to all the people I did not get to talk to this weekend.
I promise to be twice as stupid and 3 times as goofy at the next race, just like normal.:twitch:
And I was #17 if any of photogs have a pic.

Yes I know Rob I was there this past wed and Dean(ButterBean)tried to talk me into it no go but I did do the other one just after it if that counts.
And thanks I finshed 2nd again. Thats 3 second place finshes this season so far and one win.
