Had a good sleep, probably aided by the cool temperature outside and breeze coming in the windows.

But I woke up at 5:30am and couldn't get back to sleep. :dead:

Looks like a gloomy dark day outside.

Dog woke me up too damn early. For absolutely no reason. :dead: now to start my day with headaches and le tired.

Work and working on the bathroom. Luckily the wife though it would be a great idea to rip apart the bathroom a week and a half before we host a party. Now she's annoyed it's not going back together faster. Quality materials and craftsmanship takes time, bro.

This GMT is a total downer.

I'll go walk in the woods with the lady dog.
I rode my bike into work for the ninth day in a row, so that's pretty cool. Considered riding the bus but it's too nice a day to not pedal in. I should definitely give the bus a try one of these days since there are stops pretty close to the house and literally right in front of the hospital.

Here. Yesterday ended up solid for Haley. She had another big off, but at the same spot as two other cadet 2-strokes. All three were because they were trying to pass the slower adult 4-strokes. We had been trying to get them spun out into their own session or wrapped up to the adult 2-strokes all morning, but it took sending three of them off to get the cadets broken out.

The track owner said that he was okay with putting her into a full-sized kart and sending her out with the adult 2-strokes. She was only 2 second off her times and 4 seconds off their time, which isn't bad given it was her first time in a full-sized kart, with that motor-type, and it wasn't fitted for her at all. Though she did go off once she started getting comfortable with rotating around turns, but wasn't ready for the rear-ended bite from larger tires and wider axle.

Now, to work where I get to cover for my colleague who is out with COVID.

Morning Monkeys.

Hell of a weekend and a 2 day work week makes me happy. I know I'm going to wish we had plans, but maybe not really. I think we will get the truck out for at least a dry run and maybe take it up to Ocean Park. Either way I won't be working, so that's good.

What’s the headway/time frequency of said bus?

/me did the usual “first day of X grade” photos with the kiddos, rode with the eldest to her new middle school, then had the swim spa delivered. It is filling up now. Will take quite a while and then a day+ to get to temp, I imagine

How now brown cow!

City Engineer is a thuper nerd, I can tell he never leaves his desk for the field and doesn't get his sandals and white socks dirty by any means. He looked at my original excavation sketch and wanted a much more robust purveyance of data. Took the Theodolite out and gave him some shots for elevations and slopes. Let's see if he is happy with his numbers nao

In other news,

Solar components are "weather delayed" for some reason. nothing but clear skies from here to portland. I hate waiting around for deliveries when I have other things I could be doing.

Finally got a new Jurb. GF also got a new Jurb. This will allow us to escape our abusive af employers. Yay.

Also it's finally raining so maybe the heatwave will end and the biggest river in the country will stop looking like i can walk through it.

PDF warning. 'Bout every 30 minutes or so. 20 minute ride. Not Euro good, but shockingly good for deep red COS.

That's pretty good. The bus here used to run downtown every half hour from 6 to 6. But now it's one trip in the morning and one trip at night. Hope you don't miss it.

I don't work downtown and there isn't a bus that goes over the west hills, unfortunately. So my only option is to drive. I couldn't imagine trying to bike in.

Screw electric "bicycles".
this is such a reactionary, wrong-headed attitude. I see so many people of all ages out there on the multiuse paths in my neighborhood because of e-bikes. they are getting people out there, out of their cars.
