I just got an older computer from my in-laws for my son, the tower is only 3-4 years old I was told the equivilant to a Pent III, the monitor is a generic brand, ProGen the problem is I can't adjust the color past 16bit, I was told by my mother-in-law it was pulling 32bit. For the life of me I can't figure out how to fix it. I tried clicking on the 16bit and the only other one it shows is like 2bit. When I try to work the pixel slide controler next to that, it won't allow me to adjust that either. Is there anything else I can do? The monitor was manufactured in 98, so I'm assuming it could adjust higher than 16bit, its old but not that old.

Just go to the device manager and uninstall/reinstall there.

Just download the newest drivers first, they should include instructions.

Well it could mean it is booting in Safe Mode. But if that is not the case redo the drivers.

u need to indentify the video card manufacturer 1st.

easiest way is open the box and take a look at the video card brand and model on the chipset. then search for the drivers at googles.com.
