In all fairness the name actually came from my 10 year old cat. Her name is Evo. Like the way Danzig would pronounce "Evil".

Her full name is Evo Kenevo.


So yeah...nothing to do with the current trend. We're way ahead of the curve.

Maybe they could just rename all of them with Extreme. That would be much better.

Funny I was thinking kind along the same lines when the new Cannondale EVO came out. Not much imagination in some of the marketing departments.

Because XTR started as M900, XT is 700 series, SLX/LX is 600 series and Deore is 500 series
The second number can be used for the generation of grouppo.

All dating back to 7 gears in the back not 9 or 10.

Well, it's obviously used because it's an epic descriptor. You need an epic name for an epic bike with an epic fork that will survive that epic ride.

With the proper choice of colourway, of course.
