I have some music in mp4a format that I want to convert to mp3.

I'm using XP.

Recommendations for a utility?

foobar2000 w/LAME will do that. Also dbpoweramp.

Converting one lossy format to another will degrade sound quality further (not a huge issue for normal use/people though).
