Yeah, I know, a rather specific request, but perhaps some of y'all know some.

I'm going to take a couple of 4 day weekends in August and get away. So, any thoughts of what I should ride?

I'm guessing a day's drive will take me nearly anywhere in NM, UT, and WY. A few places in AZ, TX, SD, OK... you get the idea.

I wouldn't think you would want to ride in Texas in August. Daytime highs will be around 100.

Wump, thanks for the links, I had no idea that TX had some much neat geography. But you're right, I don't think I wanna visit in August.

chupacabras100km Starts right across the border from El Paso.

There are also planning on doing a race in Lajitas next February(?). One year it was 90F.

yup, gonna bring my mtb too. Since I've been thinking about the heat, I think I'm gonna avoid any place too hot.

Maybe I'll road bike around the Canyonlands (near Moab, Utah) and if it gets too hot, just wimp out and mtb in Fruita. But I've never been to the UT, WY, CO corner and think that'd be a pretty cool area to check out... searching for info now.
