Nam I am
Well This has been a Very difficult couple of weeks for My Wife and Myself.

About a Month ago , My daughter started having issues with her throat, Long story Short about 10 days ago she was diagnosed with T-cell Lymphoma /Acute Leukemia. This was naturally Devastating News to us all. The good news out of all of this is it has a 95% cure rate. throw the Fact in that she was healthy coming into this and she is being treated at one of the Best Hospitals in the world, the confidence level is very high for a full recovery. It will be treated With Lots of Drugs , Chemotherapy and Radiation. all told the whole regiment will take about 2 years to complete. She started teh Chemotherapy immediately, the doctors have been happy with the Mild side effects she has had so far. No nausea , how ever she is temporarily now an Insulin dependent Diabetic ( they say this will last 6 -10 weeks ). she now Pees orange and will be losing her hair. She has a Great attitude about it all, and is very determined that she is going to beat it. after 15 Days in the hospital she was released last night for a little while. She was very happy to get home . But we still have a Long road to go.

You have a good Tx regimen going for your Daughter. Support is what she needs to get through this. Shave your head as she loses her hair so she doesn't feel Odd [unless you have the serious knob head lol] get her in a support group [depression hits a lot of folks during treatment.

My wife and I have been through the the cancer roller coaster so pm me any time if you need someone to talk to

Yeah for Jess coming home(even if just for a little bit). You guys have dominated my thought for the past couple weeks.

How did she do with the Lumbar Puncture? I had one of those(just the LP not the whole procedure she had)about 10 years ago that left me in bed for a week straight with the absolute worst headache I've ever had.(Funny that I went to the doc in the first place because of a headache). Basically all my Cerebrospinal Fluid leaked out and my brain felt like it was resting directly on my skull. Ouchie.

Had a bad scare with my daughter when she was younger. Basically a family doctor overreacting. But went through the whole range of emotions.

My best wishes to your daughter. She will be in my thoughts.

John, RSV was bad enough and I didn't even know Caroline well at that point. 4 years later, I'm not sure I could take it. Having a hard time not crying thinking about your daughter. I'm pulling for you guys. Keep us posted.

So sorry to hear about that man.

My brother is a survivor on non-hotchkins lymphoma. Seeing the whole chemotherapy and radiation process was really rough but in the long run totally worth it. I participate in the relay for life here every year.

I hope for a speedy recovery for her.

Wow, healing wishes to your daughter, and support to you. My cousin had leukemia when he was younger (maybe ~5-6yo?), and he beat it and went on to become probably the healthiest member of his family. He play sports, runs track, and you'd never even know that he went through this. I can only wish the same for your daughter. PM me if you want his contact info.
