well i had my first ER assisted fall last night at skatebarn. i was trying to spin just a little slower than usuall, my front tire cased right at the top of the bigbox and i hit face first into the concrete floor. i ended up with 3 stiches on the inside and 8 on the out side of my chin!!! you could even see my jaw bone. To sum it all up i am siting here with a fractured jaw, i'm not exactly sure where but it's in my joint. so i don't think i will be in the jumpjam#2 like i had planed......but i will for sure come and hangout(take pics)!

so......ya haven't ridin until you've fallin!!!!!!!!!!!

Ouch! Sorry to hear that. Take your time, relax and get better. I'm starting to think (actually have been for awhile) that maybe fullface helmets are a good thing for dirtjumps and parks. That from an old guy with a flat spot in the back of his head from a helmetless collision with concrete in the 70s. Stupid ramp jumps...... I started wearing my moto helmet after that on bigger stuff. The cool guys thought that was stupid then, but then in the 70s I could outride pretty much anyone I ever road with, so my level of risk was much higher. Now I'm older (chicken) and slower so I wear the cool helms to look good. :evil:

i have a full face......i just don't wear it park riding. plus my dad, and the docter said that if i was wearing a full face there would have been a good chance of a broke neck due to the chin piece.

well i just got back from seeing a specialist and my jaw isn't fractured it's broken. so i've got until sometime next week until they wire me shut....well not the old way but a new way where rubberbands will bring my teeth back to it's regular postion when i close, just like braces but this will be for my jaw!

so he said it will be six weeks before i can ride again. i mean i can do XC and stuff but DH,DJ,and park....no, due to the fact that if i where to fall on it again i could get really messed up.

P.S. it looks like i can finally work on my picture taking skills!!!!

Hope you recover fully soon. I take it your dad's NOT an ER doctor. Wear the full face! Chances of a c-spine are there with any kind of head-landing; why not give yourself every advantage? Go it one better with an MX neck roll if the ff/c-spine thing bothers you. Maybe Travis Pastrana doesn't armor-up, but us mere mortals should.

Sorry to hear about your wreck, sucks to be out of riding, i broke my right wrist and won't be out of the cast til mid july. At least you'll enjoy it that much more once you can ride hard again. Funny how we sorta take riding for granted. Not gonna preach the helmet stuff, at least you were wearing one, besides that i can't remember the last time i saw anybody wearing a full face at the barn when i used to ride there. Life is too full of shoulda, woulda, couldas! Sh!t happens.
Get better fast man, don't forget to take your vitamins!

Just got back, and it turns out that when he viewed the CT scans from the hospitle for the first time i have three fractures(right side, left side, and in the joint of the left) but he can only fix the main break in the left side the others are to small to worry about. but all he did has put two rubberbands in around my teeth, so my mouth is limited to move to the point that it won't get hurt any worse! feals very wierd but i would rather know that my mouth can't go in the wrong direction then know i could accidently break it at any time! see ya'll at the jumpjam.......i'm camera bitch!!!
