My new 888 rc2x has become hard… :help:
In the first 2 weeks I remember that it was really soft, so I thought that maybe I don’t remember well… but today I checked my friend's new 888 rc2x fork and it is really softer in comparison to my fork…
What should I do? Maybe it's already time to change oil?
Or maybe there is air somewhere that I should free from the fork? (Like in the monster forks?)

Is there a tech PDF or something that I can see and learn how to open the fork? (Like the great PDF's in rockshox site?)

Thnks.

It's probably that the seals havn't broke in yet. You said it was new right? It will stay sticky for abit and then all of the sudden be plush as plush can be. I would try turning the knobs the other way just to be safe.

Open up the top caps and let any pressure out and check the oil levels. Sounds like their could be too much oil.

Mine came from the factory with a bad air cartridge, that had to be replaced.

You didn’t understand me
When it was new it was great and really soft.
Now it's hard….
Where can I find directions about opening it and changing the oil?

Thanks

It probably needs to be burping, my 888 did that till it broke in, Just use a wrench to open up the top caps and put it through the travel, that will pop it open and let the air out.

there was a post time ago ( I recall it was named rc2x tuning or sth. similar) in which vitox explained the way to open the rc2x-....I followed his intructions when I changed the oil in mine and it wasnt difficult at all (only I had problems when I tried to unscrew the red nut....)anyway, if you look for post about the rc2x or Vitox´s posts you´ll find it..., BTW, I know its a silly question....but how many clicks does your high speed commpresion dial make(black dial in the top of the left fork leg)?....I have searched through the manual but it didnt say anything....cheers!!

in your case id start with checking the structure of the fork, loosen all the crown and axle bolts, realign it and see if that doesnt improve anything.
then, burp it. the rc2x has a lot of stuff going on at the top so the easiest way is to put it upside down, remove the LSC adjuster, and then remove the footnuts, slide the lowers up a bit and that should take care of any air that has gotten inside the fork, plus, if you have used it a month or so, you could do well with an oil change, with the footnuts removed its really easy to just pour out the oil and replace with new from the bottom openings of the lowers.

Thanks vitox.
So just opening the nuts on the bottom of the fork and change oil from there?
Will all the oil go out?

And for your answer banrider:
It's 26 clicks and a half.

Have you considered the idea of not showing your bike hard core midget on unicycle pornography? Just a thought

Dude everything you need to know is here, don't be so helpless. As vitox said, turn your bike upside down before you open it up from the bottom and no, the oil won't come out. Flip it over and give it a few minutes before you start working on it so the oil will settle in the upper part of the fork (which will be lower when you turn it upside down). But based on what you're saying you might want someone else to do it for you.
