I'd been contemplating building my own SS from a used frame and other parts, but I saw this beauty on eBay the other night and couldn't resist.

Not only was it a Cannondale (which I have a bit of a fixation for), but the seller lived about 4 miles from me (negating the need to drop a heavy coin on shipping). It's a '98 F2000 frame with 32x17 gearing and a singleator. The fork is a Pilot, not the greatest fork to come from the Rock Shox boys but oh well. I immediately slapped on my old Shimano 636 platforms and we're ready to rock out!

Nice bike!

Does the Singleator use spring tension? If not, you can ditch the chainstay protector. That's really something I love about "normal" single speed bikes --> lack of chain slap on the chain stay.

Ever thought of replacing the fork with a Surly rigid one?

Good luck with it & happy riding.

Thanks! I got it for $350. It's got Race Face cranks, Weyless seatpost, stem, & riser bar, Cane Creek headset... It was a pretty good deal, IMO.
