I am now running the SRAM X.0 derailer and shifter. I was wondering what others thought of them that have been using them for a while.

I really like them. I actually like twisting the crips for shifting. They do take a little to get used to. They are pretty smooth as well.

I'm running Xo and loooove gripshift. Nice and crisp. I rarely ever have "bump activated" shifting.

To each his own........

I like them, fairly good mechanical feel. XO rear derailer is smooth and fast. I have a tendency to grip my bars tight on the inside and trigger shifters bother my thumbs. Maybe something left over from riding dirt bikes.

But, I can't figure out why they set them up that the right shifter lowers the gear when you twist back and the left shifter is the opposite for the front derailer??

I always ran 9.0SL on my geared bike. does x.o make that much of a difference over the 9.o stuff or is it just double the price and lighter? 70$ for the 9.0 SL and 145$ for the X.O ?

if I ever can get another geared bike set up, I don't think I could do the x.o. unless the price came down. I have seen derailleurs break after a month before (although no that common) and at $145 ...:( what ever happened to the deore xt top bar? now those were reliable

I'll wait the the trigger shifters before I even try SRAM.
Man, we're exact opposites! I love my SRAM stuff, it's on every single one of my bikes. The think I like about my X.O is that it just feels so on, when you shift down, the der goes "clack" and boom, you're in the gear you want. Maybe the ghost-shifting thing is a matter of hand position, becuase I rarely, if ever, mis-shift with them.
Acadian, the Triggers are pretty sweet! I have a couple of pairs of the protos, and while they're not quite ready for primetime, they're close, and have some great, unique features. Just rode 'em yesterday, in fact!

I finally tried XO on a real trail ride condition last Sat in Big Bear...
OK, to be fair and all..we went back to the car to make sure the tension and adjustments were spot on and they were but the shifter felt sluggish that I was used to with the 9.0/9.0 SL. I think the particular one I tried could have used a stiffer spring bec it really lagged the most when upshifting.... This is a specific case so it's not even my general thought of the product. But I will stick to my Deore shifters....

or get used to my Rohloff shifters;)

I'm all for innovation!

I'm not sure about the time frame, but I know that SRAM doesn't want to release anything that isn't going to work perfectly. They're not flimsy, per say, just not production-quality, I think. What I like most about them is that I can shift like 3 or 4 different ways. It's super easy to knock off a shift when you need it, without messing up your hand position at all.
Not sure if I'd want to use 'em for DH, though, they seem more XC to me, at least. Probably because that's all I've ever used them on. Maybe I'll through a pair on my DH bike for the 12 Hour DH race...

Don't know about the trigger shifters but the plastic derailleurs are sure flimsy. I broke two 9.0SL's last year and won't use them again. The X0 still has plastic. Time will tell if that will become its new achilles heel. Pity because I prefer the gripshift action to STI shifters and the XO is a thing of beauty.

Was it set up with the XO shifter? I read a review that said the with the new shifter it felt less "snappy" than the old ones. I have mine set up with a 9.0 sl shorty shifter and it feels better than the 9.0 SL derailleur.

it was an XO set...it was on a test bike so it was tweaked to supposedly work good...dunno.,,

Yeah the shifters come in a cookie tin too. I knew there was a reason for the hefty price tag.
