It's really not that complicated, but I do recommend getting a map - even I use it from time to time. I just bought one for an out of towner and noticed even the new Scorp entrance was on there (which was built in April).
FYI, if you park on the south side (Samish Way near Padden), make sure you don't leave ANY valuables in your car. It's like the old SST lot....waves of car break-ins. The north side off of Birch street (or at Whatcom Falls) is much safer.
