Hello everyone, I am new to these forums and mountain biking.
I would have posted this in the beginner's forum but looks like it does not have any viewers.
I basically started biking because it looks like allot of fun and I needed a healthy hobby. I just purchased a 07 Ironhorse maverick to start off with for now. My goal is to get into DH and FR once I get comfortable and in better shape. I am not in bad shape now, being an infantryman I tend to stay as strong and fit as my job requires. Although since I started riding I noticed just how out of shape my lower body is and stamina as well.
When I get good enough I daydream of building on an Ironhorse sunday or Nicolai frame, have not decided which Nic frame yet.
I live in Tacoma, WA and if anyone that lives in or around the area feels like welcoming me into a group or what-not, let me know.
My job also requires me to be CLS (combat life saver ) qualified. That is pretty much a battlefield form of first-aid. So maybe I can be valuable to have around for those nasty crashes.
pic of my bike, my photogenic daughter seems to like it.
