i don't own any audio playing equipment that is high end enough to notice it and I bet the majority of people are in the same boat as me.

if you take a 128 kpbs file (what apple and others use when they make the specious claims of 'fits 5000 songs!'), convert it to wav, and then re-compress back to 128 kpbs, i'm pretty sure you'll hear a difference.

try it out and tell me.
