Hey Nor Cal Monkeys!

I just recently moved the whole Fam up here to Nor Cal from So Cal. (San Diego - East Co.) Job re-location. I work in Rancho Cordova and we live at the north end of El Dorado Hills. I have been up here since Feb. moved the fam up in March and unfortunately, I have had little time to ride in the last 5 Months. New Job, moving the family, getting situated,.. and a major problem with the house we moved into. All taken care of now and I think we are on our way to getting settled. Sooo, I thought I would reach out to my MTB monkeys and say "Hey".

I must say my Nor Cal brothers… I never knew! I think I can safely say, I'm never going back to San Diego… To live anyways. With the little bit of riding I've done up here so far, I can say SD has nothing on Nor Cal!

What do I ride or have rode in the past?
I currently ride an Intense Uzzi SL. I ride what I guess most consider All Mountain/XC. At 225 (I need to shed about 40lb's) I'm not too concerned with how much my bike weighs, nor have I ever been… if ya know what I mean…? At one time I rode at the head of the pack with dudes I rode with… But those days are gone and I really don’t care. I like to ride for fun, enjoy were I'm riding, etc. I can usually go the distance it just takes me longer.

At one time I had 3 bikes, a 5.5" Travel Devinci Free Ride bike, Turner DHR, and the current Intense. I eventually sold the other two.

Well, clearly I now have a reason to buy another DH bike! AWESOME!

Glad to be here and I look forward to many hours in the dirt… I may not be on the boards a lot, but I am online almost all day.

I'm off to the photo gallery to check out all the bike porn…

Later,
Steve

Welcome.....just like FREERDR4LF says...Northstar. I'd be willing to meet you there as well as Auburn, except I'm milkn' a broken collarbone.

There are alot of folks on this forum that hit up Northstar as well as Auburn. Talk to gonefirefightin' aka Brett the Retard. He lives up your way.

Thx for the replies. Ya a buddy of mine from SD has been up to N* several times and says it's pretty awesome.

Thx for the invite to meet at N* & Auburn, but I'll have to get another DH/FR type bike b4 I go... In the meantime, I have to get out a just ride. I'll post some pics/vids when I can...

You do not need a FR/DH bike for Auburn unless you hit the OHV park. A trail bike is all that is really needed on Confluence, Culvert, Stagecoach etc.

Broken collarbone...shicaca. Steve, welcome to The NorCal. We are rad. I have pump track and lots of bikes, you are welcome any time. You other knuckleheads as well-the pump track is ridable and pretty dope, always a work in progress, there will be a dirt jump and some more obstacles as well. Come and partake of the goodness. Well, if you're healed up anywyas. collarbone...sheesh.

Ok, cool! Ya I'm sure there is tons of riding that I do not need a FR/DH bike for.., I will partake in DH stuff soon enough... But for now, I would like to try some of the places you mention. I've also learned from many years riding in So Cal, it's best to do some rides with others who have ridden them before.

I'm totally down to do some rides, just let me know when and where. If I am able to make it, I'll be there. As I said, I am not as fast as I once was, but I will always go the distance.

Thx,
Steve
