Talk about misinformation!
When I installed my new form (Mozo r500) it raised the front end of my bike about 3 inches higher than the old Judy, and gave another 1.5" of travel, yet with a few days riding I adjusted to it without a problem.
If you absorb the upramp with your fork, then you need to change your riding style... don't let the thought of heaps of travel scare you off buying it, you just need to relearn your bike and you'll be fine.

this is all true. you can jump with anything. it will be a smidge easier with a shorter fork, but don't worry about it. no bike or component is ideal for everything.
