Care to explain why you think the 49ERS are capable of going into Soldier's Field and getting a win? The Niners will be lucky to stay within 20.

I am predicting the Colts will get their first loss this weekend. Denver's defense is strong enough to hold down the Indy offense.

Shouldnt be too hard since Dr. Z is an idiot. He picked chicago to go dead last in the NFL last year among many other blunders.

Anyway, of those games:
Bengals over Falcons
Broncos over Colts
Saints over Ravens
Bears over Niners
Cardinals over Packers
Steelers over Raiders (god you better hope)

Also, I like the Texans to beat the Titans

Denver
winners

Arizona at Green Bay
AZ will dominate like they did against Chicago, but won't have the key turnovers.

Atlanta
at Cincinnati
One of the games of the day. I think Cinci's off field issues are affecting them. ATL for the close win by the heels and hands of Vick.

Baltimore at New Orleans
NO dominates. They're for real, like AZ was supposed to be this and last year. Brees is for real unlike SD's thinking. Mccalister will have 120 yds rushing. NO's defense harrasses the suspect Balt offense all day.

Houston at Tennessee
Two teams slowly heading in the right direction. Houston edges out TN with their experience.

Jacksonville at Philadelphia
Another good game! Phily after two tough losses at home. They're pissed.

Seattle at Kansas City
Seattle is without their stud RB -and- QB. Unless Lofa Tatupu and the 'hawk defense forces turnovers in the KC red zone, this game is a blowout. LJ pushes 200 yds rushing.

San Francisco at Chicago
San Fran will be a force to reckon with... in three years. SmithQB, GoreRB, DavisTE, BattleWR, lots of potential, but against da Bears defense? Get the body bags ready. Grossman has a big game, restores confidence.

Tampa Bay at N.Y. Giants
Unless Ronde Barber can do it again, Giants win solidly. Last game the Barber brothers will play together.

St. Louis at San Diego
StL is much better than anyone expected, but with Rivers coming on and needing to be accounted for, StL can't just focus on Tomlinson.

N.Y. Jets at Cleveland
As a lifelong Dolphin fan, it pains me to say it, but the Jets are for real as the number two team in the AFC East. Pennington is back with lots of quality targets.

Pittsburgh at Oakland
Oakland wins! Oakland wins! hahahahah. Pitt has issues. Rothlisberger really should've taken the week off. Raiders lose early, Willie Parker runs it out.

Dallas at Carolina
Romo makes the QB start against Julius Peppers and the Carolina defense? Dallas defense can't keep up with Delhomme, Smith and KJ. All around game, Carolina dominates, signals the end of the never started Cowboys.

New England at Minnesota
MN run defense is solid. MN run offense is solid. NE gets exposed.

GAME OF THE WEEK
And not just cuz I'm in Denver and a fan, it's cuz of some interesting facts:
1. In meaningful regular season games, Indy has won 25 straight!
2. In meaningful minutes, Denver has NOT allowed one TD.

Indianapolis at Denver
Indy's run defense just isn't good enough. If Denver rolls out Jake and lets him boot, they won't keep up. Javon and Rod can go up for the random downfield toss with the best of them.

Denver's defense is crazy good. They've been building it for this game over the past three years. Champ has a season breakout game, shuts down Marvin, and gets his hat-trick interceptions, one for a TD... all the while running down the field thinking of Ben Watson last year.

And Indy's run game is too suspect to worry about... it'll get shutdown by the front four Browncos alone. Leaving SEVEN Broncos to focus on the passing game.

Home field is a big advantage this week -- outside, higher elevation, colder wetter weather.

So there you go.

Are you ready for some football?

Denver is going to lose, there past games have not been very hard
yeah, what was I thinking. I mean, KC, Baltimore and New England aren't worthy opponents.

Both Denver and Indy have won two games against opponents with winning records. So, their strength of schedule is rather similar.

Care to elaborate on why you think Indy is so superior to Denver?

You are trying to talk football with somebody who actually thinks the 49ers are going to beat the Bears.
Maybe if they cut and paste Montana, Rice and Lott in from the 80's.
Denver and Indy should be a great close game.
In other news, a big giant harbl named Julius Peppers iz coming N fur sum Romo spleenz.

Why i think the Colts will take out the Broncos is....

Colts on a roll
Colts good passing offense
The TD's Denver has givin up have been threw the air.
they got Marvin Harrision and Manning.....
Denver...there going to lose..

I never said that the 49ners are going to win....i said they might..get your stuff correct prior to responding..thanks

On a roll? You mean barely winning half their games?
Good defense ALWAYS beats a good offense (see Bears @ Cardinals 2 weeks ago)
So denver has given up 1 td? To how many by mediocre teams? Hell, even tennessee had one on Indy. That's awesome defense man.
1QB and 1WR against 11 guys? Good odds, I'd love to take those.
Denver's going to lose? Poor rationale. The QB situation in Denver is shaky at best, but the running game, true to Shanahan's form, is unbelievable.

Oh yeah, even though I had to pick the Steelers in this week's pool, I'm hoping against hope that they lose. The Steelers deserve to lose after the crap they pulled in the Superbowl and last week against the falcons.

Good analysis rob. While Im not sure Denver is going to win, there's all kinds of reasons why they should. Its going to come down to Jake Plummer and whether or not he plays well, or makes mistakes. If he throws upward of two picks, game over, Indy wins. You just cant give them more opportunities to score, because eventually the WILL. Peyton, IMO, is the best QB to ever play the game, but he can be rattled with a good pass rush as San Diego show last year. Now, without a real effective running game, the great Denver LBs should be able to key in on him and force him to make some passes that he doesnt want to.
Overall, I think the Colts probably have the potential to improve more, and their defense is getting healthy, but the Broncs are at home and mile high is a tough place to play. Im thinking they will pull out a slim victory.

The cardinals will lose. I'd be shocked if they didn't. Green demoted the Offensive coord who was pummeling the bears, after the loss. Think it's strange the cards changed their strategy in the fourth quarter? Apparantly our RB "the edge" went to coach Green crying he wasn't getting enough playing time and the new QB was going to be a big hero. So Green overrides the OC and tells them to get the ball to the RB. Game over. Then he demotes the OC for poor play calling. The cards have some talent (except on the line) but no team cohesion, and they are ready to cut each others throats.

I do feel bad for the cards. Denny Green is a jackass. Always has been, always will be. One thing Ive known about him for a while (as he coached a division opponent) and one thing you'll figure out, is that it's never HIS fault. He goes through more coordinators than anyone, and is always shoving off responsibility onto others and making them take the fall. Believe it or not, when the Bears were doing their last coaching search, alot of folks were wanting Green as the bears HC. How quickly people forget...
Now we have a great HC who really understands the "team" dynamic. If you watch Chicago, you'll notice there are NO "me" guys at all. No Chad Johnsons or TOs or Edge's. The biggest "superstar" we have is a linebacker and he's very humble. I hope the Cards bring in Jeff Fisher or Dick Vermiel or...somebody who can really step up and earn respect. Not a guy who screams and punches podiums and passes the buck.

Denver is on roll too... five straight.
Denver has a good passing defense
Denver has given up two TDs, both late in the game when they were up 17-0.
Manning-Marvin may be the most prolific passing tandem ever, but ask Dan Marino how that worked for him in his career.

Cards will win despite the coaching staff. You have to feel bad for the Cards cuz they should be a playoff contention team.

Ya know what AZ needs?

Don Shula, Mike Dikta, or some old school coach. :)

It will be absolutely crucial to start getting Javon Walker the damn ball. If Plummer can key in on him and his TEs, and keep his throws honest and not wild, it'll be a pretty good game.

If the OC let's Plummer roll out and move around a bit, the chances of a win increase dramatically. Plummer is not really a running QB, but his numbers outside the pocket are better than inside the pocket this year. Indy's line and LBs will be chasing Plummer all over the field, leaving the short routes and halfback screens/routes open.

If the front 4 for Denver can't get to Manning and make him adjust in the pocket, they'll have to bring some LBs and corners at him. If Indy can force the corners and LBs to come on blitzes JUST to get him to move, the short routes for Wayne and Harrison will be open, and that'll be death to the Broncos.

Bears are a lock this week. Alex Smith will see more of the turf than the bottom of his cleats will.

Cardinals...well, if Leinart has a good game and keeps his throws honest, he'll have some huge targets in a really porous GB secondary. Edge should FINALLY have some room to run on GB. If Favre gets hazed in the pocket, Arizona will force turnovers and come away with an easy win. Without pressure on Favre, he'll carve up the Cards secondary.

Baltimore/NO. Tough call. If Deuce can get 100 yards on the ground and keep the defense up close to the line, Brees will have a field day. Colston (one of the best rookie WRs in the game this year, IMHO), Horn and Bush will have loads of looks.

Rob, Ive been saying it since before the season began, and I still hold to it. Baltimore is NOT even going to make the playoffs. They will get beat tomorrow as well and Ray Ray will continue to pop off at the mouth.
McNair is DONE. I mean DONE. I really think they had a guy for the future in Boller and I know that sounds weird, but he has all the physical tools you need. AND he was coming on strong last year before getting benched. I think the Saints win pretty big. Baltimore D is pretty decent, but they arent elite anymore. Not at all.

No doubt Baltimore is not a playoff team this year. I've been impressed with the way they manage to win games, but it's not playoff worthy.

That D is impressive by the numbers. They seem to have things down on paper, but I'm leery of saying they'll pull it off on the field. In the Superdome, I'm not going to count on the Ravens to win it, but I think the game heavily depends on the running game for NO. The Ravens have the potential to cause serious hell for Brees in the secondary if the running game stalls. Good game, it probably breaks open in the 4th quarter and leads to a NO victory.
