Boston....outside of it....
Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, and Death From Above 1979 played in DC last night.

The crowd wore black.
There were chicks gyrating to Closer (I wanna fck you like an animal..)
There was a chick in front of us that looked like Goth Paris Hilton
The mosh pits ........ sucked............ (5 people does not constitute a respectable pit)
Hurt (made popular by Johnny Cash) produced a crowd so emotional that everyone produced their lighters, and the southern guy behind us got *really* into putting emphasis on "Sht"...it was like he got Tourrette's.

Southern Dude: "I wayer this crown of sht!!!!"

I wouldn't suggest going out of anyone's way to see Death From Above 1979. They were just loud and repetitive.... and the singer sounded like he got his nads trapped in a door.

Queens of the Stone Age were great. They played with the crowd pretty well. They definitely tried different ways of playing their songs and it all worked... I wasn't a fan before, but am now.

Nine Inch Nails... let me just say that Trent...well, I  Trent.

I can't stand one of his guitarists, though.
Aaron North was a jck@ss on stage. I haven't seen such bad stage antics like that since I went with friends and saw the friggin Spin Doctors... and the lead dude did cart wheels on stage.
yeah.. this guy.... he was friggin annoying:

Ok, Aaron can play... but does he *need* to knock stuff over every 5 seconds?
He did lob a keyboard into the audience, which I thought was interesting...some fan got an awesome souvenir.

ok, ok...enough of that
They did play a decent mix of old and new... and I was happy when the young uns knew the classic songs..:thumb:

Moral of the story:
If NIN is coming to a town near you,
dress yourself up in some black clothing and go see Trent.

Destruction of stuff is nothing new at a NIN show. They do it all the time. Kind of boring.

It was best left to professionals like Keith Moon/Pete Townsend.

If you thought Death from Above was bad, I saw Marilyn Manson open for NIN. That was the most restful 45 minute nap I have ever had. I didn't think a band could be as boring as the Red Hot Cilli Peppers, but I was proven wrong.

NIN...Far too commercial…

I finally have figured I like to hang in the genre of Melodic Death Metal….That seems to be where I like to find bands…..

When the Hell did he remake it? Why haven't I ever heard his rendition?

Oh, hold on.... I don't listen to the radio. :p

I generally don't listen to radio either, so I have no idea how I got wind of it....

according to Amazon, it was done in 2002

That was one thing I think Cash should have never done.

I saw NIN open for David Bowie a few years ago, overall I was pretty underwhelmed by their perfomrance.

Bowie put on a killer show though. :thumb:

I don't like to go to big stadium shows after bands are all washed up and they just need money to pay the mortgage on the mansion.

I saw NIN when they came to Portland for the first time and played the Pine Street Theater in '89, I think. I was up against the stage and the show kicked ass.

Saw Marilyn Manson at the same place in '94. He smashed a wine bottle over his head and then cut himself up with it. He kept spitting at the crowd all through the show. At the end he told the crowd to spit back at him, I was front and center, I thought it was raining.:thumb: Good show!:D

My friends and I hung out with the guys from Pig Face after their show at the Melody Ballroom, about '92 I think. The whole band wanted to pile into my van and head downtown to The City in search of mischeif. Their manager wasn't real happy with me. I settled for getting drunk with Nivek Ogre in the tour bus and cracking jokes with Mary Byker. Trent didn't make it to that show, but was with the band then.

Korn in '94 at the Roseland was great.

Skinny Puppy at the Fox in '91 was the best, but it might have just been the acid.:nope:
