Just got my 2007 "work holiday" calendar so I'll look at that, will check with the Mrs. and will shoot some dates by Friday hopefully.

WAY, WAY, AND I MEAN (way) tentative dates:

A. In and around 1/15/07 MLK Holiday weekend?
B. In and around 2/19/07 Dead President's Day weekend?

Well?

behind that boulder
a stinky warm huge building that has everything
Everything except mountains, hills, mesas, granite, sandstone, dirt, trees, cliffs, flora, fauna, fresh air, flowing water, lakes, and the list goes on...

What I don't understand is why someone would drive 9 hours to go to something like that when if they planned their trip right, could probably fly to Phoenix for less to go mountain biking on a huge variety of real trails.

The best part about that though is the Phoenix trails will not suffer for it.

Jim, that is awesome... I only live around 2 hours from Ray's, so as long as nothing else is going on I will most likely be hanging around riding the frozen tundra of our home trails or playing at Ray's!

AS A SIDE NOTE > anyone that wants to ride our home trails as a side trip from Ray's is more than welcome to come on down to Pittsburgh! You name the type of terrain and we'll show you around!

I'd like to build a Ray's bike, but I don't know that the cashflow would work! what do you have in mind? OH and I need pads dont I? Ray bitched at Snowshoe that I didn't have 'em!

I will see what is going on this Saturday.... I don't think I will be able to race Sunday, cause I may have Emma, and my shoulder is still FUCT (and feels like it's getting worse)

Dude why build a bike for Ray's? Just pull one off the wall when you walk in. Some peeps around here are trying to talk me into going this Sunday. It's a possibility but my band is playing Saturday night so I don't know if I'll be up for a 5am departure Sunday morning.

That statement right there shows you have no idea what Ray's is about. There are a million guys like you, guys who think you live in mountain bike Mecca, who think the crusty trails you ride are so much better than the rooty junk we have up here, who will never venture out of their backyard because they think it's the be-all end-all of mountain biking. I've ridden your trails, and yeah they're fun, but if you think that's the best riding, you have much to learn grasshopper... your "mountains" are pretty insignificant compared to, say, the Alps I rode in last year. It's all relative, and it's too bad for you that you are choosing to go through life with your holier-than-thou narrow vision of what's fun.
I was very sad to not have time to go ride with splat. Particularly when I started seeing all of those giant granite rocks around Foxwoods. It is all different riding, but it's all good. I am jealous of Ray's.

When we rode P-however you say it Canyon the last two days, I realized that I have a trail just like it with fewer people and a little less climbing. I'm not saying that my trails are better than anyone's, and will love Noble Canyon I am sure, but even TX has some great stuff to ride.

I will include the Northeast in a vacation list soon. You guy's stuff looks as fun as a lot I see.

I can't imagine being as narrow minded as the people that will never venture out of their regions.

wow, i had no idea thre were so many.
anyone ride Pine Bush or the pits often?
I ride the 'Bush in times of desperation (ie, late out of work, lack of light, great after a rain, etc.) but I mostly ride in Renss Co., as I work in Troylet, NY. The 'Bush is great for me in small doses, otherwise I get bored - perfect in this time of year, though! (and great on a SS all out for an hour!).

OK, I will continue to look at dates, realized Dead Prez Day usually = visiting relatives/b'day celebrations in Strong Island.
