Wineries and vineyards are not the same thing, although they often come together. Grapes are grown in vineyards, wineries make wine. There are many people who grow grapes who don't make wine - they sell the grapes to others. There are also many people who make wine who don't grow grapes - they buy the grapes from others. There are also lots of combinations - vineyards that sell some of their grapes and keep some to make wine in their own wineries, and wineries that make wine from grapes grown in their own vineyards and also grapes from others, etc.
And there are others who only manage the vineyards that are owned by people that sell grapes to wineries that may also have their own vineyards and they may use the same vineyard manager as the other vineyards and the vineyard manager may have his own winery with his own vineyard and he buys vines from nurseries and other vineyards for his vineyard and the vineyards he manages (some of which are at wineries)
In other words, the billing here gets really fvcking complicated sometimes.

We don't have to make wine, but we do. We also get a a bazillion bottles from private wineries that buy our vines. I have a nice 02 Cab Franc waiting at home that a customer brought in last week.
