I think they used the standard 8.75x2.75...but your mod suggestion is interesting.vitox said:risse is probably the only one who could do that.
the only bike i know of that comes with that size and stroke is the 2000 and 2001 giant dh, maybe you could scavenge one from a broken one.
...
Wow, they actually have exactly that size listed! Thanks.ChrisRobin said:
Nope! This is for a different project... I do see how that would cause some confusion though!punkassean said:Are you looking for a shock for your '05 Enduro? If so the size is 8.75x2.5" not 8.5x2.75".

You're talking about the ATX series right? The ones that had 7.5" of travel. I had the 2000 model (I loved it! I still miss it today!). It was red and yellow and had dark blue swingarm and rockers. Anyways, maybe it was a CDN version but it had an 8.75x2.75 RockShox Pro-Deluxe stock. I met another dude with a 2001 version and he had a installed a Fox RC 2.75. Then I met someone else that had a 2.75" 5th.ridiculous said:no hes right about the 8.5 x 2.75.
<== ex giant dh team rider
You actually cracked yours? I never heard of someone breaking one. I sold mine to get a Balfa BB7 back in 02 (big mistake). I loved my DH Team.ridiculous said:i loved the dh team i would still be riding it today if i didnt crack the frame, the geometry fit me so well. Its also fun watching your bike in old movies like nwd 2 and chain reaction you cant miss the purple swing arm.

What is the spring inner diameter? is it the same as manitou/fox or romic/avy??? weight?OGDMFG said:The new jupiter 5 are an alright shock, I have been running mine for about a year with very little trouble.
Yeah, I just can't find a currently produced fox shock that fits that size. I think 2004 was the last year of it, but they are hard to come by.dromond said:My 2000 FSR DH has an 8.5 x 2.8" stroke Vanilla RC. That's mighty close.

The reviews on MTBR are pretty terrible for reliability, which is kinda scary. Not sure if that or that other brand is a better bet.

And most of the parts transfered to the v10 for me when I did almost the same thing (I didn't break mine, but I think I was the 4th or 5th owner...the town bike to get people into dh). I often wondered how that bike would ride w/a proper shock and chain guide.ridiculous said:yeah i cased the hell out of a creek gap and split the rear swing arm tube all the way through on the derailluer side. The good news is it setup a v10 impulse buy.
