Woo do you think the mountain will open? Another storm this week.
Maybe it will come in as rain and melt some of the existing snow.
How is this "Gypsy" trail? I moved down to SoCal a few years ago and haven't been up there since this one opened. Last time I was there was the first year that LiveWire was open.

Hard to say..... It kind of feels like winter up here. Cold and about 4-6 inches of new snow over the weekend. It's already pretty much melted off where dirt was already exposed but it's not helping to melt what's been there. A week or two of 70 degree temps can change everything though.
Gypsy is fun as shlt. It's a lot more of a racecourse than the typical just beat the crap out of yourself stuff like karpiel or dogbone in my opinion. Overall speed is a little faster I'd say. I just hope it melts out in enough time to get some maintenence and some minor tweaks done. It's a course that pretty much everyone can ride but still rewards skill and a little bit of fitness.

I Live in N. Lake and go past N. Star daily. still a ton of snow, they might as well of kept the mountain open for snowboardin. don't know how they are going to manage on open. Martis zone is partially clear though

I didn't ask, but I know they postponed it until they can get more trails open, so it will be on the upper mountain. Boondocks may be an option... I already have a hotel reserved for this weekend, so it looks like I'll be riding the lower mountain 
I canceled my plans for this weekend, I'll try for next weekend.
I'm riding, but I am also bringing my hair dryer and some rock salt for the upper mountain. Mother Nature is not gonna mess with my last Tahoe season!

Went up opening weekend and had a good time.By the end of the day the one black diamond trail (Lift line) was already starting to get tore up,but they did a really good job with all the new jumps,berms,and wood stuff on it.Gypsy is all cleared out and still getting prepped,a friend of mine hiked to the top of it and rode down and said they've groomed it.Apparently he was riding through a few sections of cleared out snow that were still handlebar height.

the zephyr side is open this weekend. boonies is sweet and the reroutes that have been done on gypsy are sick. check out the northstar blog site to see video of just a bit of the rebuild. with more to come next week for the PRO GRT. and the lower half of the vista side is open as well so you get your gnar star on. also dont forget your hardtails kidwoo has done some nice things down in the two sexy jump park.
I'm going to pass again for this weekend, was hoping the whole mountain would be open, I'll be there in 2 weeks.
