As we all know, there are plenty of unused sections of trail that
criss-cross the land at Teds, part of our agreement with the land managers
of the Department of Fish and Game land is to close these unused sections
down and let them grow back. In reality they aren't asking for much, just
some small consistent closures of the unused stuff. Keep in mind, we are
NOT closing down any of the good trails (ie.4gies, Insanity, berms, etc.).

Please show up and help us with this. All we need is for everyone to show
up and put in a few good strong hours of reconstructive work; this will
show the land managers that we are serious about riding there, that we want
to keep riding there, and that we are willing to put in some work to keep
this priviledge, but more importantly it will show them we REALLY care
about this place!

Please spread the word and show up, bring plenty of water and some
gloves. If you plan on attending please [mailto:contact@mtblocos.com] email
us back so we can have an idea of how many people we should expect.
Remember guys, the time has come for us to put forth a strong effort that
shows we are serious and care about our riding and our riding areas.
If we want to be able to continue riding at Ted Williams, we need to show
them that we want it.

MTB Locos feels that Ted Williams is and will continue to be an important
corner stone for local trail advocacy since it has extensive bike history,
considerable current bike usage and more importantly it is a meeting ground
for various types of land users (extreme bike riders, recreational bike
riders, local residents and hikers). Not to mention that the majority of
Ted Williams is under management from the same agency as other
controversial local bike riding spots. The relationship between rider and
land manager that is being built and nurtured at Ted Williams is a key part
of having the sport of mountainbiking recognized and acknolwedged by the
mainstream community and land management agencies, which we feel is a key
focus point for mountainbikers to continue to have legal access to the
land.
