I posted this on toshi´s wall... i´ll repost here in hopes somebody can chip in a good idea...
most people I work, (specially the sales managers) come from non-automotive/technical backgrounds; and as such, have not really been able to comunicate in gearhead terms with our target market.
i´ve approached a few ad companies... but the people I´ve spoke to aren´t really gearheads.... so the concepts they have pitched to me are too artsy for my taste.
this will be professionally filmed (by a gearhead friend of mine who happens to own a media company) in order to make a 3 minute short for the internet, and a 8 minute clip for corporate (mining) clients.
my budget is limited (so, detonating a car for video´s sake is out of the question), but a clutch or something like that could be acceptable.
ideas?
my new gig is head of after-sales for mazda. we are targeting corporate (mining) clients... who are notorious gearheads, with strong technical backgrounds.so, i´ll get to play tug of war at 16,000ft asl with a rental top of the line hilux and the newly launched 5-cyl Mazda BT-50. (and i´ll get paid for that!); among other top gear-esque tests (braking distance, 400ft drag race on dirt, 20mph-40mph drag, estability/traction control and downhill assistance.... any suggestions for something that could make it viral?
