they are making them for several other frames, but the last i read was they would not be available in north america or only in italy or something.no (AFAIK) - it was co-developed between specialized & ohlins. Its a newer design than what cane Creek licences I recall reading in the marketing blurb.
Its only available for demo8 and Enduro I read. I'm happy to be corrected - and would love to be because you can never have enough choice!
Surely other than the status none of their other bikes would benefit from a coil spring? I could see them doing a lighter cCDB air type next year or so though which could suit a wider range.
As for sale outside NA, I think you are getting that mixed up with FSR suspension which is patented in NA.
offering just in italy is weird. it is worse than Bos service and spare partsRead the links in post 5; the shock is being offered in italy in a wide variety of sizes and for multiple brand/model applications.
Maybe its a mental thing? If it makes you feel better and gives you more confidence you will go faster. Why are people so wet for a specialized-ohlins shock over the canecreek-ohlins shock? Because the sticker is different? You guys realize that outside of spesh bike the shock won't push you off obstacles and make you faster every time you go over a root or rock? That feature only works on spesh bikes
Well looking at it like that it is cheaper than starting a cocaine habbit.Maybe its a mental thing? If it makes you feel better and gives you more confidence you will go faster.
Dude, it's got a yellow spring! Why are people so wet for a specialized-ohlins shock over the canecreek-ohlins shock? Because the sticker is different? finally something that matches mavic stuff!Dude, it's got a yellow spring!
Take a chill pill dude, according to ridemonkey logic CCDB is still a better shock, coz it haz MOAR adjusterz and clickz.View attachment 115174
i will try this weekend, but feel super plush, i will put 388 original spring, 450ti spring become too hard for this shock, they feel super plush but when you ride you can feel some shim stack working and become harder, i dont know how but i always rode 28% sag to firm pedal but im feeling great pedalling this shock with 33% sag, its amazing
The two shocks are not the same internally. Care to explain the difference in simple terms? I have a fever and I still have to be at work so my intelectual capacity is similar to that of a bucket. The two shocks are not the same internally. Read up here: http://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/Rear-Shocks,35/hlins/TTX,12627
Actually acording to most it is worse because it is not new. You are getting to ironic even for you.Take a chill pill dude, according to ridemonkey logic CCDB is still a better shock, coz it haz MOAR adjusterz and clickz.
Both are twin tube and designed by ohlins, similarities ends here. TTX uses bladder not ifp (usualy it makes a shock more sensitive), rebound is not controlled by poppet valve like in the ccdb, but uses shimmed piston and rebound needle. Shimstacks on the main CCDB piston acts more like a blow off valve for some huge hits and doesn't have much influance on damping [iirc on ttx25 ohlins shock (ccdb is a modified ttx25 shock) there was only 1 very thick shim on main piston]. Ohlins provides better springs, and this is very important, because You can't properly tune Your suspension if the springrate is off. HSC/LSC valve is probably different. So basicly, it's a totaly different shock with ridiculous pricetag.Care to explain the difference in simple terms? I agree 100%. I was on a 400lb ti spring on my double barrel with around 25-28% sag and had to drop to a 350 lb spring on the ttx. The shock feels amazing at 33% sag.View attachment 115174

Seems to me that Cane Creek may have a licensing deal that gives them exclusivity for bicycle Ohlins in the US. Not very weird from a business sense.offering just in italy is weird. it is worse than Bos service and spare parts
How about the rest of Europe, are they going to put SHIMZ on the shock if the frame is not of specialized brand?Seems to me that Cane Creek may have a licensing deal that gives them exclusivity for bicycle Ohlins in the US. Not very weird from a business sense.
The rest of Europe gets WP suspension, of course! You heard it here first. How about the rest of Europe, are they going to put SHIMZ on the shock if the frame is not of specialized brand?

You're on the right track, it is an abbreviation. If you check out some older KTM's, you'll see that they used to be known as White Power, probably a bit of a PR nightmare these days.None can beat Ohlins.
Wp sounds like wanky progression ;-)
