You mentioned a guide. I can't imagine that there is enough space to drop the chain, with the linkage the way it is. I would think that if you put a guide on, it would shove the chain line way out to make it work. I have had zero problems with 2 rings and a 34 tooth FSA bash guard.

I found your thread, so I guess I answered my own question about your new bike.

How tall are you, and why did you decide on an 18"??? How long a stem are you running???

Nice bike though.

i'm looking at putting on a Truvative Shiftguide, it shouldn't space the cranks out at all.

i'm 6'1", was going to get a 20" but there were none within a 500km radius in canada to try. It was suggested 20" would gear me toward climbing and 18" would be ok for everything else, and since the bike felt good and didnt have much choice....Running a 90mm stem, might try something a tad longer and lower the bars if i'm gonna climb alot.

Cool - as I said on mtbr, I am running a 70mm stem on a 20" frame. I always rode longish TTs with a 100 - 110mm stem. This feels nice.

I just put a Truvativ Box Guide on my Roscoe, and did a little grinding on the outer plate that is plastic, but the rest fit fine. Well, I did grind the granny tabs off, but I wasn't planning on using those cranks for anything else, so that was fine. For $50, it's really decent looking stuff though.

Let us know how you like your Reign. I did notice mine plunging through its travel on drops like 3 ft, so I sent the shock to Push. They did some magic and put a bottom out bumper in it. It feels damn nice now, but I suspect the Propedal adjustments aren't effective anymore. I tried to adjust to the firm on a road climb the other day and it seems to stay just as active. It does climb really well though. What is the weight on yours?

Dude, the 20" is HUGE! I'm 6'2" and it's way, way too tall for me. I can't even imagine the 21"! I'm going to trade my frame for an 18", as it'll fit much, much better. Whoever decided to make a 6" travel trail bike with a 20" seat tube hasn't really done much "trail" riding, in my opinion.
Congrats on the new rig though, except for the size issue, I love my Reign, and my Trance...

zedro, what is the clearance issue for the guide?

it's bb mount?
yeah theres no ISCG mount but luckily the stock Evolve X-Type BB comes with 2x2.5mm spacers on the driveside. The DRS is listed as needing modifications (probably due to the chunkyness and ISCG mounts), but the Travative looks like it should fit with no mods.
