Sup,

Maybe some of the shop guys that carry Specialized can see if this is possible. From what I have read on the new BigHit...it is using the same rear linkage that was an upgrade on the 2002/01 BigHits(Biglink). I'm wondering if the 2006 entire rear triangle is capable of being run on older 2002/01's??? Probably not cost effective but it would be cool to run 26/26...

Thanks,
Dolt.

big hit wasn't made in '01, it was still the S-works DH - 26" only and i'm almost positive not compatible. (I still have mine kickin' around).

Sup,

Here are pics of both...check out the rear linkage....

2002 Bighit...

2006 Bighit...

What do you think?

I'm no big-hit authority but it looks like it might work.
See how in the 06 the chainstay yolk drops down more than the 01 pic to accomodate a 26".
If anthing the the newer rear end might bolt on okay but could have angle issues. The linkage mount looks moved on the 06 vs. 01.

Sup,

It seems like the only issue would be the chain stay. If the link is the same then it'll bolt directly to the frame like the older model. If the chainstay has the same dimensions and bolts directly on as well....26 inch Bighit??? It would be sweet.

Any Spesh shop guys know???
