Top of the line Univega's from the early to mid 80s were made in Japan and nearly always equal to or better than much more expensive big name foo foo builders of the period, today these frames can often be had for under $200.00 stripped or around $400.00 with period Superbe Pro, $600.00 with period Campy Nouvo Record. Maybe $250.00 with Shimano 600.
My favorite dream builder is 3Rensho -also a Japanese maker of frames that offered a huge bang for the buck.
