Yeah, bad news on ATT.
I bet, however, that if everyone had been riding UP and then back down, the history of trouble over the last two or three years would never have gotten to where it is now. You may be rad, you may be badass and way too cool to push a 45lb rig up hill all day, and those "XC guys" may be weenies, but everyone knows it was the "Shuttle Culture" that clashed with the asshole up on top and the cranky neighbors.
Is this an isolated incident with shuttling and "dh style" riding causing undue angst by the neighbors over trash, Kranked-audio blaring out of parked cars and scary-looking warriors in armor and full face helmets? I dunno. Ask the riders and neighbors at Ted Williams, the "PQ Slalom" in Black Mountain or ____________ (you fill it in, but not too descriptively).
When we shuttle, some of the energy we save from pedaling should go back to keeping things cool. A few bad apples in our batch, mixed with a few from the neighbors makes for ****ty sauce.
hey what did the first few posts said about "talking about" the other trails??Originally posted by Gimper4JC

... I must point out that a few of those bad apples were (are) xc types as well.
Now this is an issue! Where to find someplace that could be "official", like the MTRP BMX-zone or who knows? Are there any good, public land, areas out east of Chula Vista (in the former Dead Zone)? It seems like everything is getting graded for homes or designated as a Preserve these days. All these trails popping up clearly indicate that San Diego NEEDS a place to downhill! But where? Or do we continue riding places until they're closed and just move on to the next hot spot?
Uh, no. It wasn't. It was a biking trail before the World Cup section was built. I think those of us in the fullface crowd drove off a lot of the prior trail users, but we've no right to lay exclusive claim to the place.Originally posted by Gimper4JC
It was a DH trail
Mike, you could just as well be saying this about TWP or even Noble.I think those of us in the fullface crowd drove off a lot of the prior trail users, but we've no right to lay exclusive claim to the place.
Yep, I could, and I think it's sort of a shame. Would I be wrong?Originally posted by BullittX

Did you ever get any more info from the land manager concerning the trail plan he discussed at the Noble maintenance day?Originally posted by BullittX

ATT - dead horse.
We can accuse, blame, point fingers, ... flagellate such sayings as "DH is the only way" "XC is for weenies", it was an XC trail, No, it was a hiking trail, no, ATT=Anderson TRUCK trail,.. were trucks ever driven on it? Jeeps? bla, bla, bla, but all that crap don't matter. The guys who started MTB were on modified road bikes riding down some mountainside without a trail... Is that considered "cyclocross", "Freeride", or "DH" no they called it "Mountain Biking". Get off these forums and our butts at least more than once a week and ride! Whatever you flava! DH, XC, FR, URBAN, TRIALS, BMX, TRICYCLES,...
Bottom line as I stated before...
LETS RIDE! and maybe try something new.
