I hope they're paying Ortiz a pile of money. That's the second time in a couple weeks that all has been lost for the Sox and he came through.

The rest of the team needs to get their sh!t together, though. There were some appalling defensive screw ups. They were playing like a bunch of amatures... I think the only great defensive play I saw all game was when Veritek shipped it out to third to snag whoever it was trying to steal.

Ortiz can't win the series alone!

Fortunately, the game starts earlier tonight...

well mueller did a very nice job blocking the bag w/ his foot. williams actually did beat the throw, but never touched the bag because it was blocked. but you are right, millar, damon, etc...they need to get sparks flying.

hey steve, thanks for that link, i'm gonna d/l the tune tonight.

Not last night's game, but did anyone watch Damon take fifteen pitches the other night?!

He struck out, but man did he make that pitcher work for it.

Saw it last night, great game... had to crash before it was over but I checked SI.com when I came in to work this AM. I was glad they pulled it out, but I think NY is the better team and will probably take them in the next game. Methinks its gonna be NY vs Houston. I'll be pullin' for Houston, its my old Home town, bask when they were wearing the Orange and White, in the days of Nolan Ryan :)

Between a rock and a hard place.
That was the most entertaining baseball game I have ever seen.
I really hope the Sox are able to pull out a miracle. They beat the heck out of their pitching the last few games though.

In all honesty......the Boston Bruins will probably win a World Series before the Red Sox. But I can hope. Heck, if the Sox are able to beat their curse, perhaps the Giants can someday beat theirs.

You Bo Sox fans just love to suffer. The Red Sox will probably win the next games to force a game seven just to lose the series to a ninth inning home run. It would funny to see the heart ripped out of the chest of the Boston fans once again. :D

funny line from the writeup on boston.com:

"Witnessed one fan with a Bellhorn T hitting on a gorgeous blonde in the concourse an hour before game time. Naturally, he struck out."

I swear.. Everyone else on that team is just getting in his way. I'm glad he keeps pulling stuff off like this, but he should not be carrying the team.

Christ, Damon - who has approximately zero stolen bases in his career 'cause he can't run worth a sh!t - tries to steal on an attempted bunt.

Ahh well. Whatever it takes to win it, right?

Well they wouldn'nt have expected damon to run?
That logic only works if the guy with the ball isn't looking directly at the runner when he tries to steal ;)

damon's got decent wheels. it was a great throw by posada, and a very close call. i thought that damon's botched bunt attempt was the nadir, though. 1st and 2nd, none out...you gotta get that bunt down. it was too high a pitch, he should have waited for a good one.
