I know this is a singlespeed, but I think the problem carries over.
My Specialized P1's cranks (Truvativ) CREAK so horribly. I know it's a common problem because my friend has the same issue. I've tried tighting them down but it still makes the sound whenever I go for a pedalstroke.

Is the remedy a better crank set or is it something simpler?

Check your chainring bolts and your pedal spindle.

Make sure they're both tight as well as your cranks/bb

Also make sure things do have lube on them (your typical bicycle grease) like the pedal threads, on the bottom bracket cups, on the spindle/crank bolts etc... I can't remember if I used blue loctite or just did them dry for the chain ring bolts but those are really all I can think of.

Do everything that has been mentioned. But those cranks are nitrous for being horrible. truvativ rukiton right? It also might be that your BB is pissed.

Teflon.... I can tell you now, 100% that will make the noise go away. Take your bottem bracket out, and put teflon on the cups and every thing else that had threads.

If its an isis setup, i'd guess its your bb. I was getting about 6 months out of mine when I was riding them a lot.

my p2 has those cranks and the same problem, the dude in the shop said its the bearings in the bb,
