um hello... YOUR freaking husband was the shooter!!!
VENTURA, Calif.A Ventura woman whose husband allegedly shot up his neighborhood during a four-hour standoff with police is asking the city for more than $680,000.
Julie Greenleaf filed claims last week for damages, her husband's medical expenses and lost earnings. Greenleaf says she needs money to repair bullet holes in her home, care for her 4-year-old daughter and make a $250 medical co-payment.
She told the Ventura Star that her husband, a plumber, was drunk and suicidal over financial problems during the April 10 standoff.
Police say Jeffrey Fennell fired more than 50 rounds before he was shot in the shoulder and surrendered. He's pleaded not guilty to assault and other charges.
Police Lt. John Garner calls the claims "ludicrous."
