Do any of the Pivot riders ride 4x? If they do what model do they ride, I know that IH tweaked some MKIII for a similar job, do Pivot tweak one of theirs?

Well there's Kyle Strait and Mitch Delfs, both are not known for riding 4x(I don't know who Will Rischbieth is, so can't comment on him).. not to say they won't make a 4x bike, I'm sure they will. Probably a tweaked version of their Mach 4 bike, I bet they'll call it the Mach 4x(much like what most manufacturers do).

With IH, I actually designed a couple 4X bikes, modified MKIII's with different top links, geometry, and custom length shocks. There has been some talk about that for Pivot, but like it was pointed out, the team guys aren't really 4X specialists and so far they seem to be getting along with the stock bikes pretty well. I'm all for it in the future, I think that it would be a lot of fun to take on another project like that, it's all up to the team and Pivot whether it's something that they want to do.

Didn't KS win last year's dual slalom at Crankworks against Lopez? I know, I know it is not 4x, but I guess they would use a similar bike. ;)
Hardly a reason to build a 4x-specific bike when KS races dual slalom twice a year for one-off events(I guess the same could be said for the IH SSO, but I think we're past those days). My point was there's no need for the WC team as nobody races 4X.. Now it would be interesting if Pivot signed a slopestyle guy and they made a beefier/racier Mach 4x/SS to play with.

One of those bikes is still making the rounds with our family. First my wife was rocking it as a do it all bike and raced 4x on it, now it finally had a new shock swapped in and been passed down to her brother's wife who's just started riding. She's digging it. Probably one of my favorite-est frames of all time.

Don't forget, a WC team needs pit bikes! Like the CRC team, no dedicated 4x racer but tons of Tazers in the pits. :thumb:

isnt Lukáš Měchura part of the team?
Yeah Mechura is with CRC and is one of the top 10 4x guys at the moment. He does not ride on an Intense though. He's on a proto Nukeproof bike.

As for Pivot doing a full on fully 4x, I would not hold my breath! Less and less companies are doing that type of bike, as most of the guys/girls on the WC are using hardtails. Intense, Commencal, Specialized, Yeti are still making them (probably forgetting a couple others)

Yes, that is the bike he uses. Couple of colours though!
