I'm heading up to Snowmass for a conference this coming weekend. The last time I was up there (3 years ago) I did 3 or 4 XC rides but this time I wouldn't mind checking out the DH course.

Couple questions:

1) Is the lift access running throughout the week for DH?

2) Are there any local shops that rent DH bikes?

I'm still toying with the idea of bringing my DH rig, but it may cost me too much for travel and might be difficult to handle in the airports...

Any info would be greatly appreciated. If anyone wants to show me around drop me an email>

Theres plenty of places that rent out dh.fr rigs in the mall there. just stop by a bike shop or ask wherever your staying, they should point you in the right direction

It should be noted that although a lift does run during the normal summer operations, it is not the same lift that runs during race time and doesn't take you to the top of the mountain where the DH track begins. You would only be able to access the lower 1/3 or so of the DH track on the lift that will be running.
