Gearing up for ProGRT Downhill Race

We're working overtime getting geared up for next weekend's BIG ProGRT DH race here at Plattekill. The course is being prepped, tweeked, raked and dialed for the event. We just finished the finish line area and added an all new bridge take off as an alternative to years past wallride.

This race is gonna be a GOOD ONE! Pro/Cat1/Cat 2 will all share the same course with several "optional" go around sections and the Cat 3 (beginners) will have their own separate easier run from the top...don't miss it! Next weekend. Plattekill ProGRT. Race Sunday May 26. Mountain open for rec riding/race practice Thursday May 23 thru Monday (Memorial Day Holiday) May 27. Race is open to all ages & abilities

Should be a good course. The course is primarily the same as two years ago, with the addition of a little fresh cut and re-routing, a big mamma off camber drop that should be interested, and the bottom section that drops through the old 4x course with lots of jumps. It should offer a decent mix of plattekill's natural shale party time and a little fast, open, viewer friendliness.

Wish I could be there, but nah.

Why did people bitch about the $100 entry fee for Reading, but not the $100 entry for this race?

one trail to ride (or a few if you know the other trails) vs. a whole mountain with two lifts. either way, $100 is still ludicrous
Ludicrous. Good word. I imagine people with accents or unusual speech patterns saying words like this or micrometer.

Mike Tyson. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Balky Bartakamous...

Platty offered a bit more, lift tics and could add on Monday for 10 bucks extra. Prolly a trail or 2 more at Platty to ride than the other spot

Probably about 47x the trail options, a lift, a base, a parking lot, a cafeteria, EMT's on site, other stuff.

You don't like the price? dont pay, that's how markets work. Freeriding is more fun anyway...

platty has more overgrown trails than reading has on its entire mountain there.

and i don't mean that in any offensive way to reading and the guys that build there. plattys just been at it a looooooooooooot longer.
