40:50 (6:35 pace). 4th place overall. Acceptable in the rain and wind.
Even though you only got 4th, I still gave you the “winner” reaction. Good job!

I forgot to mention that I hit my goal of over 2000 miles the other day. I know there are plenty of people who do way more, but I'm pretty excited....most I've ever ridden in a year.
Same, girl. Same. Hit 2k yesterday, I think about 90% dirt. Still have a grand of vert to hit 200k for the year, might get that knocked out tomorrow. #feelsgoodman

Shitloads. Tram opened today, wall to wall opening. Huge base, it's like late January.
Intredasting. Very Intredasting. Hey @Nick wanna go to Jackson?

Popped in to a mate's shop to drop off some Christmas presents, he said it has been the quietest lead up to Christmas ever.
He said there were at least 4X more orders for last Christmas.

I never used to track my bike commuting mileage, but somehow despite not riding for half of July and August this year, this might be my highest tracked mileage year ever.

Currently 3481miles/441k ft of vert, not including a handful of lift assisted DH days, but yes there's some road and indoor miles there. My objective every year is 3650 miles and 500000ft of vert, currently ~20k ft behind on the vert target. Very unlikely I'll catch that up.

I’m beginning to understand why you always beat me to the top of the climb(s).

Hey @6thElement why is your goal 3650 miles a year? Because the average would be 10 miles/day? And also holy shit man, you’re at like 1300 feet/day average YTD right now. That’s absurd.

Wait, no.

That’s FUCKING absurd.

If I rode that much vert, I would always be too tired to keep up!
(wait…that happens already)
Right?!?

Impressive! How many miles on teh zone 2 machine?
Not sure. I have 1700 on the shrek and 1200 or so on the 3t in total. So probably that ratio this year.

Nice! I think I'm at like 170k. Nothing but small hills out here.
was he surprised by this
I don't believe so. Honestly I think I am more surprised by it because I didn't think we were going in that direction. I promised myself to never give out surprises as a manager... I was PIPed once with no warning. Survived and kept working until I quit years later on my own terms. I warned him that we would have to involve HR and escalate things and I wasn't sure what that would mean, and apparently this is what it means. I think he's ready for it, but I'm also not sure if he gives a shit. My sup was not impressed by the conversation...the conversation we had was not confidence inspiring.

Right?!?
Yep, just to average 10/day and half a mill in vert was just a good accompanying number.

I think it was reading about Mark Weir years ago doing a million ft in a year that inspired dumb ideas.

Fuck, -12 F here this morning.
Only this cold crossing the flats from Tabernash to Fraser. Mid-low 20s on mountain by skiing time.

You and S can knock out 20k in two long days, I figure

Interestingly enough, my daily/local rides have less vert now that I live in the mountains, compared to the Front Range. So I kinda have "small hills" here now, too. I used to see 1500-2000' for an after work ride on the regular, now a ride in the same time/distance I get around 1k. The trails we climb here just aren't as steep, but the ones we descend are a little steeper. So I guess it works out?

Tough to do the big vert days when it's so cold and trails/roads are snowy. Haven't done over 5k on a ride since October. Looks like I haven't done a 10k day this year, closest was High Cascades 100 @9650 and that almost killed me :p ;)

edit: I would wager most of my miles/vert are above 7000ft though :D

It figures. I'm healed up enough to go ride easy dirt and in two weeks we have gone from dirt clod season to unrideable sticky deep clay season. Nearest rideable stuff is going to be 60 miles away where its sandy and rocky.

2" of rain today alone and its supposed to rain through Tuesday then come back for more on Friday

That’s pretty epic, dude, well done.
