This is how I tore my ear open in Whistler. Was riding the lost lake trails and tried to climb up a steep rock face to a lookout spot. Didn't make it to the top and fell backwards exactly like that. but there was a stump at the bottom where my head whiplashed, and one of the broken roots caught my ear and ripped it open. Not fun. At least the clinic is at the bottom of the trails.I'd be lying if I said I've never done that.
