"Project Spark is a community based project originating from Staten Island, New York. The intention of the project is to bring New York City its first public indoor skatepark. This skatepark would provide indoor practicing grounds to the 3,000+ action sports participants in the five boroughs.
Please take a moment to fill out the form on the right to voice this concern to your local politicians and the National Parks Service."

only 3000+ ?? for all of NYC ? that can't be right. maybe just for Staten Island? more kids have skateboards than baseball gloves. (i think i read that somewhere!?)

even if only one in 20 students rode bmx, skateboard or rollerblades, that would be 50,000 !

The New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) is the branch of municipal government in New York City that manages the city's public school system. These schools form the largest school system in the United States, with over 1.1 million students taught in more than 1,600 separate schools.[2] The department covers all five boroughs of New York City.
