My kids are older than most people posting on this topic. My son is 20, and my daughter 14. While still able to be parents, we are mostly an embarassment to our children, so that affords me greater bike time.

I try to do 10-12 miles every weekday depending on work, it averages out to 4 days a week during the summer. The ride takes about 1-2 hours depending on how much stuff I hit on the way to the trail (or more appropriately, how many times I hit each item). On the weekends I usually work, but if off, I will do a 20-30 mile ride.

Peace,
Marc
