Boston....outside of it....
I have never watched her show, nor bought her books....
so I am not fully acquainted with how good or bad she is.

I do know that there is a community who absolutely hates her:

Rachael Ray Sux

Too Many Chefs

And there are a bunch of people who love her.

This post was particularly funny:
"Rachel Rachel Rachel ! I want to marinate her little rump roast and baste her tenderloins! What red blooded American guy would'nt love to throw her on the kitchen counter and ride her till she screams YUMMO!!! ??? I wanna make her giggle till the sun rises the next day and start all over again, she is a my hot little kitchen vixen if you don't like her, fine that means more Rachel for me. Say Yummo baby!!! one more time, you cheese burger salad booty babe,"

What cooking shows do you watch, if any?

I f'ing hate Rachael Ray. Something about her personality just grates on my nerves. It's a knee-jerk thing for me, whenever my girlfriend stops on the Food Network, if it's her, I want to fling the remote at the TV.

I like watching Iron Chef, though, mostly because I enjoy seeing the finished dishes.

We ate at one of the places Rachel Ray featured on her "20 bucks for 20 meals a day" show or whatever the hell it's called. She said it was good, and she was right! We ate there because we happened to be in the neighborhood though and the restaurant choices in East Bumfuk, VT are not very plentiful. But man was that a tasty lunch.

The great thing about Giada's show is that its filmed with like a movie camera. They add a little smooth jazz in backround and its like a food - porno.

Rachel is hott tho.

I like Everyday Italian (Giada DeLaurentiis), Good Eats (Alton Brown), Iron Chef and I occassionally will catch Rachel Ray's 30 minute meals and Paula Deen's Homecookin' (everything needs atleast a pound of butter in her world ;) )

Alton Bown has a new travel show coming out soon, 'Eats on the Asphalt' or something. I saw an ad for it last night.

Rachel Ray is annoying, and treats the viewers like they are stupid. Giada's teeth are scary.

I'd still like to do them both.

In Kitchen Stadium.

The mrs absolutely loves Rachel Ray. She wanted to go see one of her shows live. She buys a bunch of her cookbooks as well. I'm not complaining, I get some pretty nice dinners. :D :thumb:

I love Paula Deen. If you are ever in Savannah, her resturant The Lady & Sons is beyond good. Plus if she is there you'll get a big grandma hug and when don't you need a big grandma hug.

Keith Floyd. Gets through about 3 bottles of wine per show and is often obviously hammered and slurring during many segments. Awesome stuff.

Rachel Ray bugs me as well.......I think it's just her "giddy" attitude towards things but for me, her 30 minute meal ideas take me like 60, and I don't have every spice known to man to do things with. I'll admitt sometimes she cooks some decent easy stuff, but other times (like on most of the Food Network's shows) some of the dishes can be a chore to make.

I ususally Tivo Good Eats and it's a Tyler Florence show where he goes to peoples places and helps them make something that they suck at. Food 911 I think it is. If they have some show that I catch half way through and it's decent I'll search the Tivo for the next time it comes on and tape it. I love being able to go back and get ideas.

I'll watch any show on the Food Network as long as what they are making is something decent. I have no need for things that I either don't like OR there's 1893891 things needed to make it. I love the month they do with grilling/bbq ideas. That's where I learned my "stuff the inside of the hamburger patty with cheese" idea. Here in Southern California we BBQ almost all year long so BBQ/Grill ideas work great.

Most of the chef's are great though, even if I don't like what they are making. Paul Dean makes some good ol "southern" favorites that'll probably clog your heart up, but hey they look good sometimes :) We even watch the calorie commando and those guys to just see another take or twist on something. It's funny because until the last couple years I didn't pay attention to the Food Network ever, and now it's something I flip to when nothing else is on and usually there's something decent on it at all times of the day.

...& yes, Ray-Ray sucks a mean one. She CAN NOT COOK for $hit. She F's stuff up all the time on 30 Min. Meals. We have seen here use baking soda in a recipe when she said the recipe called for baking powder. Big difference.

And what is the deal with her gathering all here ingredients in one trip to the fridge & pantry? She can barely carry it all.

And her frikkin hand gestures & giggling!!!! Enough already!!!!

All I'm going to say is that I went with my sister to a bookstore Mall (and I hate malls) just to buy her last book and have her autograph it. The only book signing I ever went to. I love all the shows on the Food channel. I watch it all the time. In fact I'm cooking pork chops this evening and plan on making something totally kick ass.
Yea I'm a big azz 225 pound bodybuilder and I love to watch cooking shows and cook....gotta a problem with that? lol
