Yep, both were the right calls!!!!! I was screaming at the TV when A-Rod knocked the ball out of Aroyos glove, right when they called him safe. Glad they heard me over in CA to make the right call  ;)

I love the Red Sox.
But even if I didn't, if you like sports at all, you have to watch THIS series.
My nerves are shot.
First they kept me up all night with 2 long extra inning games, and then tonight was just nerveracking.
The best baseball I have ever seen.
These series between the Sox and Yanks just own. Everytime.
The thing that pumps me up the most was seeing all the fans in Boston during Monday's game, and how BAD they WANT it. I kept seeing little kids with their hand clasped together looking up and praying. Grown men and women looking like their life is hanging on the outcome of a baseball game.
Fate owes these fans. Its just a matter of time, and I am hoping its 04.

This series has cost me an exam grade, not to mention putting me behingd in all my work, which I usually do a good job of myself. Well worth it.

Definitly a sweet game :thumb:

Can't believe how well Schilling pitched, even injured. And that was unbelievably cheap of A-hol.. err, A-rod - I'm glad it was questioned and corrected. Can't believe how pissed off the Yankees and fans were about what was a really cheap tactic. If you can't beat the ball to the plate, guess what? You're out.

They've already made history - first team to ever win three in a row after being down three - go make a little more, guys!

GO SOX

A-rod didn't do anything worse than an offensive lineman holding a rushing linebacker to prevent his QB from getting sacked. He was going to be out anyway so he gave it a shot, and got caught. He didn't hurt anyone, it was really just a heads up play. That being said, Go Sox.

I can't take this, man. On one hand I am thrilled as hell the Sox have actually pushed this to game seven. On the other hand, I am just bracing myself to have my heart torn out again. Crap. Being a Sox fan is painful.

Yeah, The A-Rammer play was weak and desperate, but it's not like he tried to hurt anyone. People have done worse. I just credit the umps for getting the call right. Speaking of umps, how the hell did the left field ump MISS the call on the Bellhorn home run? HE WAS RIGHT THERE.

I'm tired as hell, and I don't see myself falling asleep much before 1:00AM tonight.

I disagree. What he did was much more akin to an offensive lineman slapping the ball before a hike to cause the center to lose control of it. Which, like this, is playing dirty.

Holding is something I'd put under the category of pushing the rules. Of course it's not legal, and if they get caught they should be penalized, but there's at least something a linebacker can do when he's held - a good shove, twisting away, maybe a little retribution on the next play... Slapping the ball away is cheap and obvious, and there is nothing that can be done to prevent it.

I'm curious to know how Yankees fans feel about the series, from a baseball standpoint. Seems like most of us are routing for the Sox, so we love this... great baseball AND our team is winning. But what about Yankees fans - do you also love this series/these games/the drama... or are you just pissed the Yankees are losing?

BTW, did anyone see the post game interviews with Schilling? He said his ankle was killing him at the end of the FOURTH inning and he was toast! Yet, there he was, throwing seven. What a friggin GAMER! They asked if he was upset to be pulled after 7, and he said no, that he couldn't take anymore.

actually , there you are wrong ! it was not a heads up play. by doingthat he cost the Yanks a Base. Jeter had to go back to 1st . had he just been tagged out , Jetter would have been on 2nd. Plus the delay worked against The Yankees , and there state of Mind.

But when I saw the ball go rolling in to foul territory all I could do was feel my Heart Sink ( again!!!)

GO SOX !!!

The delay DEFINTLEY helped the Sox. The Yanks had some momentum going and the delay really threw them out of rhythm. Thanks Yankee fans!!

Hard to pick a Sox MVP so far, between Ortiz and Foulke.

I think it's gotta be Ortiz - he's been the only constant offense, and with Damon sucking it up, his offense has been dearly needed. I do think Wake deserves an honorable mention though in MVP talk. He's pitched solid, especially out of the bullpen. He gave 2 or 3 (I think it was 3) very solid innings in game 5... even though varitek can't catch him.

I've got a good feeling about Johnny Damon tonight. He is struggling, no doubt, but yesterday he actually hit the ball pretty solid a couple of times for the first time in this series. I think tonight's game could be another 5 1/2 hour 15-12 marathon. :dead:

Jonny Damon has always struggled in the post season so its nothing new. When he was with Oakland a few years back it was the samething, great during the reg season and like doesn't exhist in the playoffs. Hopefully he'll turn it around tonight.

Yea... his at-bats were much better last night. He didn't look so lost at the plate.

ortiz for MVP no question. the man singlehandedly brought them back to life. twice in this series. manny's gotta start swinging the stick a bit better. it was nice to see bellhorn smack one. and millar had a solid game too.

Exactly, I'm not even a baseball fan but I'm hooked on this series. THIS is some competition! I actually left a Jam session in order to go home and watch the game yesterday... how pathetic is that. "sorry guys, cant play, I have to go watch baseball". I was laughing at myself on the way home. Its like crack, I tells ya, CRACK!

You know, for the non-Sox fan this must be a really fun series to watch. For the Red Sox fan, there is absolutely nothing fun about it.

It has been a great series for the the non-Sox fan. I am pulling for the Sox all the way (Yankees Suck!).

The Cardinals-Astros series on the other hand has been way too tight and not fun to watch. Ortiz has had a great series but Beltran is a freaking god. He is singlehandedly killing the Cards.

Tonite should be fun. Skip out of work early so I can watch both games.

As an O's fan, this is how I'd script it:

Back and forth nailbiter all game...both bullpens wrung dry...Ortiz cranks an almost-longball in the final out at the top of the 12th that Jeffrey Meyer accidentally deflects up over the wall for the go-ahead run. Fearing a beatdown, the lad denies interfering with the ball and is duly escorted from the stadium by police with riot plexishields that run with cheap bear 10 feet into walking the gauntlet. The spent Sox then go own to be swept from the World Series by Houston.

I do agree it's a great series but I'm not happy about the fact that the Yankees are choking and that their bullpen can't hold a lead. If the Yanks would have swept the Red Sox then they would have time to rest and get ready for the World Series. Even if they beat the Red Sox in game 7 I think they will be too emotionally drained and the pitching staff too beat up to win the W.S. Basically, beating the Red Sox means nothing if the Yanks don't win the World Series.
