i agree. and we've convinced a customer to get away from this stuff. i've got 5hrs tomorrow to remove it from one wheel and get both new tires glued properly.

you've got 5 hours to properly glue on a set of tires? goodluck with that, i wouldn't trust my wheels unless it took atleast 2-3 days.

the gluing process can be safely done in 6hrs, with 24hr drying time and a day to stretch. 5hrs for gluing is a little short, but doable. the first tire i did was done in 2.5hrs, and to my knowledge, never rolled. but he wasn't a racer. thank god.

for the record, we got in touch with Calvin Jones...he recommended acetone for removal of the Tufo tape. it worked, but smelled.

I'm not saying he's wrong, but acetone on any kind of epoxy has never sounded like a good idea to me.

Just sell him Clinchers, Open pro preferably. Im mean really, if your not a racer, why deal with the hassle of Tubulars?

if anyone other than Jones had said that, i wouldn't have done it. i think he's got a little more experience than me, though, so i will trust his word.
