Hi, I need to replace my ageing Specialized Fear Control front tyre.
The type of conditions that the replacement need to excel in are muddy, rooty and generally loamy conditions. A lot of downhill so needs to offer loads and loads of grip.

Maximum width of 2.1

What do you guys recommend...

WTB VelociRaptors are by far my favorite 2.1" MTN tire. Descend and corner with confidence, but still have an acceptable weight. I'm not too sure about their mud-shedding capacity, though.

(Achtung! The following is a shameless plug for my favorite german tire manufacurer, Continental. Thank you. )

I like the Conti Explorer ProTection in 2.1. for loose, loamy conditions. I leave it on all year, switching my rear depending on conditions.
