I read that yesterday. RIP.
Back around '86 or so, Deep Purple did a 'reunion' tour in the States and I got to see them two nights in a row in Chicago. They killed, as I barely remember.

Perfect Strangers tour. I saw them at the Meadowlands in Jersey on that tour. Lord literally rocked the organ...Girlschool was the opener?
...or was it FASTWAY AND GIRLSCHOOL as tour openers? Hmmm.....
I can't remember WHO opened, but I know it wasn't Fastway.
I did see Fastway open for Maiden in '83, I'd remember if it was them again.
