I just talked with Sully (at GRC/Rotec - 360-805-5677) on Friday and he seemed pretty psyched about the new Rotec frame due out later this season. He said it was a newer, Lawill-design. Call him up to get the info. There's also a write-up about it on GoHuckYourself.com.

It's a true lawill design. Mert designed it to pivot around the BB. Yeti never did it, Tomac didn't either. Tomac was actually the worst of the lawill designs due to the lack of a floating brake.
Yup. Just James had one. I think his quote was "Its a great bike when your coasting" :D The Bazooka shock on it sucked something awful.

I still have my old Lawwill designed Tomac 204 kicking around, it was my first big bike.
Crumby chainline and bad brake-jack, but it chewed up everything in it's path. I was the first person to fit an Avy to the 4-bar frame, had to make a spacer under the lower mount plate to get it to fit!

I'm liking the new Lawwill design, it looks like something I want to play on.

Dude, I loved that bike, it was the best bike ever as long as you didn't pedal, and didn't use the brakes. But if you were coasting, damn, it hauled ass, and was super-quiet to boot.
The Bazooka wasn't that bad, it was probably better than just about all of the other "mainstream" shocks back then, big shaft made it stiff, decent adjustability.
The whole "non-floating" thing SUCKED though, I was gonna get a Brake Therapy kit from Brian (the man), but ended up getting a Giant instead.
It was cool to get the looks and such from people when I was at races, most of them had never seen a Tomac before. This was back before the ABG days of Tomac as a much bigger brand...

I saw someone riding an orange Rotec lawill at Whistler on memorial day, looked pretty sweet.
That was prolly Sully's pro rider Chad...He's doing a bunch of races in BC and elsewhere on the prototype that Sully built. Even with the added weight of the proto...it still hauls ass according to Chad...I just dinked around a parking lot at a DH day in WA on it...and I want one....*whimper*.....GOOOOO ROTEC!!!!!

Sully kicks ass!!

I am VERY apt to try that frame. I have a weak spot for lawill designs (as I've spent ~5yrs on them). Although, ifI don't end up on a Sunday eventually, I will probably buy a dh-9, strip it to raw and build it up light (see sub-40 DH-9)
I have to agree with you on the Lawwill. I loved my straight six and would have bought a DH9 but came across a deal I could not pass up on my V10. I would trade it right now for a DH9 though. :)

Good gawd man, let that bike rest in peace.

Sure, it was awesome and all but it was a museum piece.

(I sure hope that this is Clifton from OK. If it isn't, then I apologize for the taunting. If it is, then :blah: ).

Whatever happened to Chumba? Did they go out of business?

Yep there still there, just not really running a Pro team this year. Lisa pretty much retired, Duncan got a deal and half from yeti. Lars is still rocking one, couple of us on the grassroots team.

Felt quick. Accelerated as if it were lighter and had less travel than it does.
Went right through the rough stuff like it was nothing.
Good bike. Now he just needs to make some more.

But, you didn't hear it from me. :nope:

Sully has some decent bike plans, just think the funding isn't there for him at the moment. He has a day job and a family, and Rotec doesn't pay as good as the other job. Hopefully he can get some co-owners and get the ball rolling again. As a Rotec owner I would love to see an entire line from them. Until then just trying to break my frame; which I don't think I will be able to do, so I just enjoy the ride.
