Drove from San Jose out to Dublin last night for wings at Buffalo Wild Wings. Opening night of the NFL and all, so of course it's packed. But we ended up watching the news on one of their rediculously large flat screens because the fire completely consumed what looked like 1 or 2 suburban blocks.
At the time they didn't know if anyone was dead. Very sad indeed.
Also got an email from my mom and dad who are in Scotland right now. Apparently, it was even on the news over there!
PG&E seems to be learning from BP's mistake, and is taking some responsibility for this which is nice.

I heard from the Southern Ct Gas guy on our job that a 16" gas main went.
Sucks to be sure for those involved...but I literally would have given a nut to be on the first in engine.
