The San Francisco Bay Area was the birthplace of mountain biking. With the closure of many trails throughout the Bay Area, San Francisco has the ability to create a unique facility in one of its park's green spaces.

Many cities have seen the need for more outdoor activities and have addressed them with a controlled, environmentally conscious bike park. New York's, Central Park, Seattle's Colonnade and Woodland Park jumps, Pleasanton's BMX Park, and Cupertino's Calabazas bike park to name a few. A bike park would contain features such as dirt jumps and built obstacles for all skill levels. More information is available at www.sfdirtlab.com/bikeparks .

A bike park in SF. Hmmmm.

SF is *huge* in the skateboard world. Can you imagine a *bike park* in the City? Would be crazy big. Kids would be rocking the jumps! Think East-coast scene but in one city. Whole new part of bike culture waiting to happen.

I can't wait!
