Wish he could see this thread, lots of very good things being said about him.

I moved out to Colorado a couple years ago and a friend out here has ridden with him and says the same...crazy how many people he's impacted.

Sanjay here back from the dead. I'm currently in Hyderabad, India and am visiting MikeD. Last night we got to talking about the good old days and Ridemonkey was mentioned/browsed.
I still ride mountain bikes, but not really doing the downhill thing. I have way more fun these days just spending time on the bike, so climbing is more preferable to the chairlifts/shuttles. I guess it's also the hippie in me coming out. With the exception of one Mexico urban DH race and a Fontana super-D I've done a race called the UltraQuest the last 5 years. This year's course was 38 miles with 12,000+ feet of elevation gain.
I also have been desert racing on the moto. D37, BITD and in 2010 I Ironman'd the Baja 1000.
For the time being racing is on hold for world travel. In 2011 I did a 5500 mile bicycle tour from Big Sky, MT down the Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Last summer I backpacked the Pacific Crest Trail, then rode a bicycle from Vancouver to Skagway, AK. In a few days I'm starting a 5+ month bicycle tour of India and SouthEast Asia, and next year hopefully I will start am around the world ride on my little 50cc scooter.
So I'm still alive, still a bit anti-establishment, trying to see and meet as many people as I can while I'm on this rock which we live. I have fantasized from time to time getting back into the whole DH racing circuit, but I feel like it would just cost a whole bunch of money to do it proper. Maybe when I settle down...

The DH forum needs more of that stuff and less gram counting, TLD suites wearing analness.
Ha, I stopped posting on Ridemonkey because I got tired of the gram counting. I guess it is still going strong.

Welcome, Metal!

Enduro stuffs are awesome.Very close to what you love to do things. your post inspire me about World traveling in bicycle. it sounds fun!

btw we should to create threads to get riding more focus instead of geeky metal porn (shaving grams) so the forum get a good balance.

For some reason I feel sorry for the terrian that your going to shred on your future tour, it has no idea of your radness and I'm sure it won't be the same for generations to come. Good luck and keep us updated on your travels.:fans:

The only thing that will settle you down is death, and he is gonna have a hell of a time getting you to do so. Guess I won't see you out poaching VisionQuest any time soon. Have a great time in SE Asia!!

Just out of curiosity, how much does your 50cc weigh?
I tried to weigh my scooter, but my gram scale was low on batteries, because I was weighing all of my weed.

Pretty sure its a ruckus, unless he's changed things up since then
Yeah, I'm still planning on taking my parent's Ruckus.

I did the Vision Quest just the one time to see what I was capable of. Were you out there the year I poached it?

Your trip looks pretty amazing. The Carretera Austral was one of my highlights from my South America trip. It looks like you saw all of it, and then some on your tour. I'd love to go back with more time to explore. I rushed a bit as I had a plane flight home to catch.

What we've learned from this thread so far: 1. Sanjay invented the enduro look with the half shell and goggles. 2. Sanjay was carbon before carbon was carbon. 3. Sanjay may be the Honey Badger.
