My 05 had the same issue.

When you lift up on the seat, does it feel like there is a lot of play? There was about 10-15mm of play in my suspension.

The solution was to buy a new bearing kit ("ProPack") from Santa Cruz ($97usd). The play came from the shock bolts, and play in the bearings and axles. After replacing everything the bike feels nice and tight. No play at all.

If spending a hundred dollars is not an option, just take all the bearings out, clean them, and make sure everything is properly torqued down. And get some new shock bolts, and maybe have the Eyelet Bushings and DU Bushings changed on your shock, as that was where a bit of my play came from.

From what I have read, Santa Cruz recommends replacing the bearings every year. The bearings in my bike were around 2 years old, and many of the axles and bearings were stuck.

Here are a couple links for you (in English, sorry). I would recommend printing them out in case Santa Cruz removes them from their website.
